About Us

Chloe Jones is currently a third year Internal Medicine Resident. Upon graduation in June 2024, she will pursue a career as a Primary Care Physician (PCP). Her decision to pursue this career is based on the ability to form everlasting patient relationships, exercise critical thinking, her passion for preventive medicine, and her desire to provide representation/trust to minority patients.

Chloe first stated that she wanted to pursue medicine at the young age of seven years old. Her love for science and medicine continued to grow throughout the years, which led to her pursuing a degree in Biology and then on to Medical School thereafter. Her passion for wanting to start this program stems from her large family and seeing the positive influence and impact she has had on her younger family members. One memory that undoubtedly solidified her pursement of medicine is when three of her young cousins age 4-10 decided to dress up as doctors for Halloween after she entered into medical school.  To physically see the positive impression she had  further motivated her to pursue a program that created a stimulating, insightful, and overall enriching experience that Engaged Minority Youth in Medicine.

Our Mission

EMYIM mission is to provide a fun impressionable experience to young minority students with hopes to spike their interest in medicine. Underrepresented minorities make up around 8-10% of physicians in the United States. Thus, young children often do not see doctors who look like them and this often can be a deterrent as they are unable to visualize themselves in this role. This program hopes to encourage minority children to see medicine as interesting, exciting, and attainable with hopes to increase the amount of underrepresented minorities in medicine for future generations.
